Still On Cloud Nine!

Military WAGS Choir Triumph at Wensleydale Tournament of Song!

Reading the adjudicator's comments brought a lump to our throats. "What a glamour group! You looked great on stage," she wrote. And then, about our "Water of Tyne" performance, she said, "A lovely blend of voices. Excellent part singing and total commitment. A fantastic range of dynamic colour as well. Bravo." Hearing that our "Rhythm of Life" captured the spirit of the song "absolutely," with "great diction" and that we "took joy in our performance" meant the world to us. Every word felt like a proper hug!

This win is just… brilliant. We know how much this tournament and this cup mean to the community. Just think – the Wensleydale Tournament of Song started way back in 1898! And the Lady Wilson Todd Cup, believed to have been first awarded in 1922, adds such a special layer of history. To hold that cup, knowing its story, feels incredibly humbling.

We poured our hearts into those two songs, and when we heard the adjudicator's comments, it made all the hard graft feel so worthwhile. It's just cracking to have our efforts recognised.

We simply couldn't have pulled this off without our fantastic Musical Director, Benjamin Noble, and our amazing accompanist, Brett Overin. Cheers for your incredible talent, your unwavering passion, and your remarkable patience with our… well, let's just say 'enthusiasm.' You're the best of British!

And to every single one of the choir members – you are all stars! We're a family, and we're ever so proud to share this moment. Sharing our music with the Wensleydale community is something we all cherish, and this win makes it even more special.
