On Saturday 16th April the Military WAGS were lucky enough to perform a concert in Richmond Town Hall to raise money for the Mayor of Richmond’s nominated charities for 2016.
We sang a lovely set that included some old favourites like 'Sister Act' and 'Sing' and were told that our performance of 'Hallelujah' was the best we have ever delivered. We also had the chance to sing some of our newer songs. 'The Lion King' went incredibly well, and 'What a wonderful world' was (almost) seamless.
There was even some audience participation with the 'Weird Sister Rap' (based on the witches’ speeches in Macbeth), 'Greensleeves' and 'I Vow to Thee my Country'.
The audience were incredibly supportive of us, not only by joining in, but they also gave us some really lovely feedback, such as ‘absolutely out of this world’ and that our singing ‘sent a tingle down my spine’. Kathleen, our lovely Chair, had a lady approach her saying that we made her cry (in a good way). Overall it was a lovely evening where we all got to dress up, sing our hearts out and raise money for good causes.
