Fond Farewell & Busking.

Tonight a big thank you to Tesco, Catterick Garrison who let us sing to their appreciative shoppers. We normally rehearse in church on a Thursday but we decided, tonight, to busk for our last rehearsal night. We did a run through of all the songs we have been singing over the last six months and we filled an hour and a half (without a break) with all our favorites it sure adds up to a lot of songs off book! We raised a fantastic £165.78 and here's a little video clip from the store Standing in the Need of Prayer

We are always very sad to break up for the Summer, as its such a long time until September without a weekly singing fix.
Tonight however was doubly sad, it was our last rehearsal with Hannah, who has been with us since 2011, one of the most active members of the choir having been a steadfast Sop2, our flutist, our photographer, a shoulder to cry on and a long term committee member covering IT/Publicity. She will be sorely missed, as will her husband and her children who supported us tonight and on many occasions over the last five years.

It was only fitting that she played 'Annie's Song' on her silver flute one more time and we all sang a tear filled 'Shalom' to our friend.

I have never looked up the meaning before, even when it was sung to me, but tonight I did : "'I'll be waiting for your call, 'Au Revoir' Shalom'"
