Busking, Cornmill Centre, Darlington

What a morning we had, not only was it Armed Forces Day but we had been invited to sing at the Cornmill Centre in Darlington, to raise money for Blood, Sweat and Gears. 

Mark Stephenson, CEO of PWS, is a great supporter of not only The Military WAGS Choir but of Help For Heroes, so we jumped at the chance of raising some monies to add into the Blood, Sweat and Gears fund. Back in April Mark led a team of veterans, support staff and colleagues in an attempt to raise £250,000 to go specifically towards psychological wellbeing activities and programmes. The ride, known as Blood, Sweat and Gears, represented a significant physical challenge to the participants (including those riding recumbent bikes due to their injuries) but importantly provides the veterans with a focus as they continue on their personal journeys of recovery. 

The target of £250,000 was exceeded and continues to grow Blood, Sweat and Gears is a phenomenal cause, take a look over on this inspirational website and see for yourself the fantastic challenge.

 We didn't hesitate putting together a few sets to fill a two hour busking slot, we sang to a busy and very appreciative Mall of shoppers, who filled our buckets to the tune of £291.50.
