17th August: Castle Howard Proms

Castle Howard Proms saw the WAGS sharing the stage with The Overtones, The English National Orchestra and Soprano Janet Mooney. We performed to a crowd of around 10,000 people in the driving rain, but good old British spirit prevailed and the fantastic evening ended with a jaw dropping fireworks display.

3rd August: Richmond Live

The WAGS invited the audience to join them in a warm up exercise to start of their set which was met with mixed response! Toward the end of our set we were told ‘one more song’ by the stage director to which Carol responded with an Andrew Lloyd Webber medley. See you next year Richmond Live?

26th July: Emma and Stu's Wedding, Hipswell Church

The choir were more than excited to perform at the wedding of fellow WAG Emma and her lovely husband Stu at Hispwell Church. Much missed choir members Vicki Austin and Kerry Horner made the journey back to join the WAGS in wishing the happy couple well. Emma and Stu were kind enough to invite the choir to join them at their evening reception, where many an interesting shape was made on the dancefloor!

The choir joined forces with the Welwyn Garden City Male Voice Choir for a joint Great British Summer themed concert at St Mary’s Church in Richmond. The idea of the two choirs coming together came from choir member Nats Smith, whose father in law sings with the WGC MVC.

29th June: ITC Families Day, Vimy Barracks

Our ladies performed in SSAFA T-shirts at the Infantry Training Centre (ITC) Familes Day, which also coincided with Armed Forces Day. The ITC trains all the Army's infantrymen, producing some of the best infantry soldiers in the world.
