Individual Support

Friends of the WAGS

Friend of the WAGS - £2.50 per month – benefits include: acknowledgment, e-newsletter, discounts on tickets for our own promotion concerts.

We often need help at events to man a stall, hand out leaflets, shake collecting buckets, serve food and so forth. If you felt able to help we could add your name to our database of volunteers and contact you when it is needed. There would of course be no obligation to help at any particular event.

A legacy is a distinctive way to mark your support of military WAGS and to allow us to use your gift to ensure our future for generations to come. We can provide guidance as to the best way to include a legacy to The Military WAGS Choir Catterick Garrison in your will and would be pleased to discuss this further with you.

Corporate Support

We are very fortunate to have benefited from support from several local businesses and are very grateful to them

Would your business be interested in supporting the WAGS? Benefits to you would include acknowledgment on our website, and for specific event sponsorship on our programmes and publicity material as well.

This may be the first time you business has thought about sponsoring in this way, or it may be that you sponsor many different organisations. This is a way in which you can embark on something new without huge financial commitment.

Are you looking for an inspiring way to entertain your clients?

With sufficient notice we can be hired to sing at corporate events.

What We Do

The Choir is acclaimed nationally. We are completely self-funding and so rely on our own efforts, those of our Trustees and Patrons, and the generosity of individuals and corporate sponsors to continue to do what we already do, and to ensure our future.

Our Aim

Our prime aim is to offer support to all women in our community whose lives are made more difficult through their connection with the military, and in particular during periods of separation and deployment. We do this through regularly meeting together and singing. To hear the benefits the choir offers first hand watch this video:

Who Benefits?

Affiliates (teachers in garrison schools, mothers of service personnel etc)

Weekly rehearsals start with tea and a chat so that women can get to know each other, talk about their week, laugh, cry and moan together! Out of this comes practical and emotional support and for newcomers a quick sense of belonging and community.

The singing is fun and uplifting and raises the spirits in some special way.

Concerts and Performances

We have performed at a huge range of venues (click here to view a selection of our previous events) for many different causes. We are very proud of the fact that our singing has forged links with local communities, supported our soldiers at homecoming and thanksgiving parades, joined in remembrance events and raised significant amounts of money for other military charities.

About Us

The Military WAGS Choir Catterick was formed in April 2010 just as 19 Brigade was about to embark on a six-month tour to Afghanistan at the height of the war.
